If you missed our last post, don’t forget to check it out. It contains pictures and video of our Halloween event, “Panic on Pendrith”. Not only is this a fun event for both children and parents, but we use this event to raise money for SickKids Foundation.
We also accept online donations if you are interested. You can look for the donate button in the menu bar, which takes you to a secure donation page on the foundation’s website. It allows you to print a tax receipt.
Before we get into the specifics of how much we raised, I’d like to take a moment to thank the foundation for recognizing Benevents and the work that we do. It means a lot to us.
Our goal for this Halloween was to reach the $1500 overall goal that we had set for ourselves a while back. We were not far from reaching that goal, so we suspected that it would not be a problem. However, we were pleasantly surprised to not only reach that goal, but to surpass it! At the time of writing this, the meter on the donation page has reached 120% of our goal. That’s amazing! We are so thankful to everyone who donated both online or in person at the event.
To date, we have raised precisely $1806 in the few short years that we have been up and running. Most of these donations come specifically from this one event. That means that we only really get donations once a year at this point and yet we still managed to raise a decent amount of money.
On Monday, November 6th, we had the privilege of heading down to the Hospital for Sick Children to meet with SickKids Foundation, where we had our picture taken! It was a great opportunity to meet the people who work every day to ensure that the hospital can provide children with the best care possible. We enjoyed meeting one of the representatives and we look forward to putting on more awesomely entertaining events in the future to help raise money for a great cause!
